Lone Tree will officially be welcoming its newest addition to the community on December 3rd. That’s when Kaiser Permanente’s specialty center will be opening its doors in Lone Tree. Kaiser Permanente membership in the areas south of Denver has grown substantially in the last nine years to 128,000 members. Given this exponential growth, the specialty center in Lone Tree is just one more step in Kaiser’s plan to bring more services closer to its members in the South Metro Denver area. It follows the opening of Kaiser medical offices in Parker in 2009 and Castle Rock in 2011.
“The Lone Tree medical offices bring specialty care closer to you,” said Donna Lynne, president of Kaiser Permanente Colorado. “If you live south of Denver and need to see an allergist, visit the ophthalmologist, have a routine preventive screening such as a mammogram or colonoscopy or even same-day surgery or minor procedures – it’s all here. We are meeting you where you are.”
The part of the center that will open on December 3rd is just the first phase of the Lone Tree development. Currently, the new 6-floor, 175,000 square foot building will house services such as medical imaging, obstetrics-gynecology, oncology, ophthalmology, optometry, a pharmacy, hearing services, ambulatory surgery center, pain management, general surgery, minor procedure center, wound care, allergy services, gastroenterology, orthopedics and even a café. Eventually, however, when the project is fully completed the Lone Tree location will be a 20-acre integrated health campus which will include other specialties such as cardiology, endocrinology, neurology and dermatology.
Member Sean Kahra is thankful to have the center so close to home, “You never know when something is going to come up. Having medical care close to home means easier access. Knowing it’s right around the corner just gives you better peace of mind.”
In addition to improved and more accessible medical care, the center will also provide many high-paying jobs which will only add to the area’s economic development. John Brackney, president of South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce says, “Our community is really celebrating this. Welcome, Kaiser Permanente, to our community.”
